Contact the Atlas.

Questions, corrections, and source suggestions are welcome at one contact address.

One address for the Atlas

You can contact The Deep Life Atlas at [email protected] about the content published on bristora.cc. Use a clear subject line so the purpose of your message is easy to identify. The same address handles the categories below.

Editorial questions and factual corrections

Use Correction — article title for a possible factual error, outdated statement, species-identification problem, or source that does not support the text. Please include:

  • The article URL and the exact passage in question.
  • A short explanation of the issue and any proposed correction.
  • A reliable reference, preferably an original paper, official record, or relevant scientific institution.
  • For image identifications, the NOAA image filename, dive record, or other identifying details if available.

We assess the evidence before changing a claim. A disagreement in interpretation may require additional context rather than a factual correction. Please do not send unpublished or confidential research unless you have permission to share it.

Source suggestions and coverage ideas

Use Source suggestion — topic to recommend a paper, dataset, expedition account, or question that would improve the atlas. Explain its connection to a particular article or gap in the collection. A suggestion does not guarantee publication, endorsement, or a reply from a researcher cited on the site.

Privacy and personal information

Use Privacy request for questions about our privacy policy or a request concerning personal information in correspondence you have sent us. Describe the information involved and the action you are requesting. We may ask for proportionate information to establish that a request concerns your own data. Do not send identity documents, passwords, financial details, or other sensitive information in an initial message.

Copyright, image credit, and permissions

Use Rights or attribution and include the affected URL, a description of the material, the relevant ownership or licensing information, and how we can contact you. If you represent a rights holder, explain your authority to do so. This address also accepts questions about quoting our editorial text. We cannot grant permission for third-party material that we do not own.

Website and accessibility problems

Use Website issue for a broken link, display problem, inaccessible control, or difficulty reading content. Include the page URL, device and browser, and the steps that led to the issue. A screenshot can help, provided it does not expose personal information.

What happens to your message

Your email is used to understand and handle the inquiry as described in our privacy policy. Sending a message does not subscribe you to a newsletter or create an account. Please avoid including more personal information than the request needs.

Response time depends on the nature of the request and the research it requires. We do not promise a fixed editorial response time; data-rights requests are handled within the requirements of applicable law. This publication does not provide emergency assistance, expedition support, or individual professional advice.
